Day 9

Morning Sugar ... 124.
Could be lower, but it wasn't too bad!
Started with a bowl of cereal.
Fiber One Honey Clusters with a sliced banana.
Then for lunch I made my GO TO salad and added a sliced apple and the rest of the chicken breast that I had in the fridge.
Somewhere in there I also dod 30 minutes on the treadmill!
I hadn't done any form of exercise the previous day, so I figured that it would be a good idea.
After work I made a stir fry with Snow peas, Red Bell Pepper, Edamame, and whole wheat pasta, along with a sauce I made consisting of soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, honey, garlic and red pepper flake.
and then to finish up the night I had a few crackers with cheese.

Day 8

Blood Sugar 102.
Very pleased with that.
Got up this morning and went to pick up Gidget for a photo shoot.
We went to Sweet Tomatoes. (pictured)
I know that I shouldn't be going out to eat, but I did have free meal vouchers so it didn't cost anything.
I tried to eat sensibly even though it was a buffet. I guess that the most decadent thing I had was some crusty bread with honey whip spread.
Extremely Delicious!
After the shoot as I dropped her off I did have one chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie, but just one!
Then for dinner Addison and I went to TABLA, my favorite Indian restaurant. We usually let our waiter Mark pick our food for us, and we did just that. We had a garlic chicken appetizer which was great, and then for our entrees we had another chicken dish, a vegetable dish, rice and naan. (pictured) It was excellent! Mark picked out some tastey dishes.
We did have dessert, but I only had about 3 bites, and Addison had the rest!
Then off to TGI Fridays, where we had 2 drinks and a shot from my favorite bartender Marc!
and we rounded off the night with 1 more drink and 1 shot from Randy at Parliament House.
Upon getting home I have another small portion of my leftover Moussaka.
I probably didn't make the smartest Food Decisions today, and I probably shouldn't have had that many drinks!
Will my blood sugar be affected? We will see in the morning.
I don't think that I will leave the house tomorrow until I go to work, and I will most likely eat pretty good.
I'll keep you updated!

Day 7

Fasting sugar 112.
I started today having a Egg Beater scramble with spinach and Red Pepper, along with a piece of toast with jelly.
Then I went to the gym and had a great workout.
My arms are gonna be sore tomorrow!
I had Jeff over for dinner before work, and I tried a new recipe from one of my favorite magazines that I get. It was a recipe for Moussaka from the latest "Cuisine at Home".
I have another recipe for Moussaka which I usually make, but this was sounded just as good and was easier, so I gave it a try and it was really just as good.
With that I made a salad.
Then at work I very well might have had a few bites of BBQ Chicken Pizza.....
Then after work when I got home I took the rest of my beef, peppers and onions that I had left and added some tomato sauce and some whole wheat pasta.
It was delicious. I also finished off the rest of the salad I had from earlier and now I'm gonna call it a night.
Even though I will most likely eat out tomorrow, it has been nice cooking for myself the past couple of days.
Plus it is cheaper!!!!!

Day 6

Fasting blood sugar 102.
Today was a great day!
I started off with a bowl of cereal.
Then I went shopping and filled my pantry.
I plan on cooking for the next few days, and am trying not to dine out.
I also got back in to the gym today.
I have been going to a personal trainer for almost 2 years now. Her name is Lynn and she is wonderful! I typically go twice a week.
So for future reference, when I say "I went to the gym" it goes something like this:
My appointment is usually from 4:30 to 5pm. I try to get there up to 30 minutes early and walk on the cross training machine before hand. A "workout" with Lynn can be any number of different exercises combining weight training and cardio. She is also a great motivator both as a trainer and as a friend.
After a week off from any form of exercise, it felt wonderful to get back to it today!
After working out I had a salad with chicken breast. (pictured)
I have noticed that now that I am trying to take pictures of all of my food, I want to make it pretty and visually pleasing. I am finding that this helps with portion control. (Today I found that I used far less cheese on my salad since it was for a picture then I would have if I had not been thinking of how it will look)
I also got a couple of new plates and placemats to make it more colorful.
So then i went to Happy Hour and had 2 vanilla vodka with diet cokes.
Then afterwards I came home and made a Cheese Steak with 92% fat free beef, onions and peppers, and I also added some chickpeas to my remaining rice, peas and corn and had that with it. (pictured)
Dessert - Just one truffle!
It is currently 1am, and I think that I am done for the night!

Day 5

Morning blood sugar 122
I'm OK with that.
For brunch we went to Agave Azul, where I had the tortilla soup and the vegetarian fajitas.
I could only eat about half of it so I took the rest home for later.
Then Dinner I went out with a different set of friends to Bento's downtown.
I had the Bento box with coconut curry chicken.
It was extremely delicious and I ate every bite.
I also had a little saki.
Then for my final 1am meal I had some of the leftovers from earlier, along with some leftover rice, peas and corn from Day 2.
Followed by a chocolate truffle (only 1)
This is the first posting where I have posted pictures of every meal.
I also am going back to the gym tomorrow and I cannot wait!

Day 4

Today I was very pleased with a blood sugar of 98.
Sometimes I think I am eating pretty good, yet I have high blood sugar, and then other days where I don't eat quite so well, and even drink 5 or so cocktails, and then the next morning my sugar is perfect.
It just doesn't always make sense and can be very frustrating!
Today I started with brunch at Toojays. (pictured) the brunch platter!
So delicious, however I only ate half of the waffle and didn't eat all of the fries.
Then we went to see Lady GaGa in concert which was fabulous!
Followed by Jimmy Johns for a vegetarian sub and a bag of reduced fat chips.
Then we had late night Betos mexican food ... Carne Asada Fries. Not healthy at all but I probably only ate a third of my plate.
So tomorrow I go out again for lunch and dinner with visiting friends that are in town, but I also will go and do some grocery shopping, because after that I am planning on cooking for myself for a bit. and the day after the tomorrow I also get back in to the gym, which I am very much looking forward to.

Day 3

So this mornings blood sugar was a little disappointing. 134.
Not the worst, but could definitely be better.
Breakfast... a piece of toast with jelly and a piece of cheese
Lunch... Jason's Deli. Tomato Basil soup and salad Bar (pictured)
Then a night out at the bar consisting of 2 random vodka based shots and 3 vanilla vodka and Diet Cokes.
Followed by Breakfast at Pom Pom's Teahouse... the Lowrider with asian pulled pork instead of turkey and pasta of the day. (pictured)

Did I make the best decisions? No
but they could have been worse.
We will see how tomorrow goes.........
